I watched the whole video of the Battlestar Galactica cast at the United Nations (linked to in this article)—I’m a big fan of BSG and of Eddie Olmos, waaay back from his days of Zoot Suit.
But at about 1hr 13 min, he starts ranting about why the U.N. hasn’t sent the blue-helmets into Ciudad Juarez. Now I have nothing but respect and admiration for him—both as an actor and as a public figure—but he really needs to get his facts straight. Everything that came out of his mouth during that little diatribe was completely inaccurate.
He seems to be mishmashing the number of drug war-related deaths last year for the whole country with the number of female deaths since the early 1990s… and is he under the impression that somehow the government sent in the military to protect the military?
No wonder he wants to send the U.N. into my city.

Pues si, se la prolongo el Zoot Suit, que pedo no? es parte de la desinformacion. Necesitan venir para saber que onda, pero bueno. De todo esto, ya no necesitamos estar mas en el mapa, todo mundo sabe ahora donde esta Ciudad Juarez, les falta saber como es en realidad, no como la pintan los diarios.
Esperemos que esta pase mas temprano que tarde, porque ya nos urge tener un poco de paz, ya abrimos los ojos demasiado a la realidad, es hora de poder dejar caer el parpado con tranquilidad, y poder dar un respiro, sin un reviro....

Que esperas de un pobre gringo (o lo que sea) que solamente lee las noticias amarillista s(hay de otras?) que obviamente solo se enfocan en lo negativo, haciendo creer a la gente de fuera (y algunos de adentro) que vivimos en medio de una guerra continua y ciega.
